Trip recommendations:
Don’t forget to take with you:

  • Sunglasses.
  • Camera.
  • Sunblock.
  • Small backpack for excursions.
  • Comfortable clothes and appropriate trekking shoes, (warm and light jacket, windrunner, fleece jacket, t-shirt, cap/hat for sun protection and also a wool hat, gloves, scarf or neck warmer and if you visit us in summer don’t forget to bring your swim suit and shorts).
  • Although  spring and summer days are usually warm, it is always advisable to take a light jacket  since it might get cooler during the evening and night.
  • If you have binoculars, bring them too!

September and December we recommend that you…

  • Take a walk by the sea, getting really close to whales and be amazed by watching them from a boat.
  • Observe how experienced adult male elephant seals defend their females and be astonished at their pups’ births.
  • Wait patiently at Caleta Valdés to see the arrival of orcas (if you get lucky you may see them feeding at the beach).
  • Taste berries that have  just been harvested in the farms of the Chubut River Valley.
  • Explore quiet and unspoilt beaches joining  a trekking  or  mountain bike outing.
  • Dare to head for the sea and experience kayak expeditions with sea lions.
  • Discover stars in the sky in a camp site by the sea shore.
  • Stroll really close to magellanic penguins, watching their boroughs, eggs and the newly born chicks.
  • Go horse riding along the sea shore or through the Patagonian steppe.
  • Be amazed by snorkelling with sea lions (a safe and fun activity!)

December and March you must…

  • Enjoy the beaches around the area.
  • Be delighted with the busy time at the sea lion colonies and watch the newly-born pups.
  • Wait patiently for the arrival of orcas at Punta Norte. We might be lucky and get the chance to watch them feeding from sea lion pups.
  • Visit the magellanic penguin rookeries and watch the already grown chicks and the adults moulting their feathers.
  • Take a boat trip from Pirámides to get close  to a sea lion colony and watch birds.
  • Watch southern elephant seals moulting their skin.
  • Go horse riding by the sea  or through the Patagonian steppe.
  • Taste different kinds of fruit  and cheese in the farms of the Chubut River valley.
  • Explore quiet and unspoilt beaches joining  a trekking  or  mountain bike outing.
  • Dare to head for the sea and experience kayak expeditions with sea lions.
  • Discover stars in the sky in a camp site by the sea shore.

  • See the first southern right whales arrive at our gulfs (from mid-June) and take a walk by the sea watching them at a close distance. Also, be amazed at watching them from a motor boat.
  • Be delighted with the ochre  colours of autumn in the Chubut River Valley.
  • Enjoy trekking along quiet beaches.
  • Stay at a comfortable hotel, relax in a spa with sea view, enjoy the pleasure of reading and be delighted with Patagonian typical dishes.
